Period Pains When I Move But Not On Period

Yosemite to San Francisco

Wednesday, May 21, 2008, late afternoon

Yes, well, really, it's hard. I'm hard pressed to leave this fabulous Yosemite, it's true. Even by remaining a full month, I am convinced that never tire. It Naturally, he must love nature! And he would come back in all seasons. I imagine the beauty of the place in autumn or winter ... 95% of Yosemite Wilderness distinction granted by Congress to respect the wilderness park.

It will therefore be a reason, because there is a consolation for us. Ah, yes, we're big kids sometimes. Herve has promised a surprise for tonight. In fact, it was a little option that we had all decided add to our program, without knowing much more ... It must be said that it would not be a surprise, otherwise. And we're confident that Herve has promised us that we would not be disappointed. We just know that it is scheduled after dinner tonight.

back down from Yosemite on Highway CA-120

course, everyone tries to guess, but we're not there, enjoy the present moment. There are still some beautiful views to admire. It is 14 o'clock, and we continue the road through the valley Yosemite's side this time from the Big Oak Flat entrance . There are 300 miles to go to San Francisco where we spend our last night on American soil. A journey of about 3:30 with a short break en route technique. We must eliminate beverage picnic ...

Bridge of Don Pedro Reservoir

The road winds through beautiful forests of Ponderosa pines, some of which burned. At the bottom of the valley, one sees several water tanks. Priest , Moccasin Don Pedro and, most importantly, the road crosses. Don Pedro is an artificial lake formed by the dam namesake. Do not forget that we will again cross the farmlands of the Central Valley and San Joaquin Valley and that production must be continuously irrigated. We will also make a stop at a winery and to taste some fruit.

Windmills of Altamont Pass

The road leading due west. We pass near Manteca, at the intersection of Highway 99, which if you follow me, we were allowed yesterday to join Modesto and Merced. Manteca is English for lard ... A story! The city was founded in 1861 by a Joshua Cowell. Logically, when the railway in 1873 went through there, we wanted to name the station "Cowell Station". But we realized there was already a town of that name near Tracy, a few kilometers. Residents then chose Monteca, but it was misspelled on the sign and decided to keep that name, anyway!

Golden Gate Bridge Oakland Bay Bridge seen from

From there, it's the same road, and therefore you recognized the passing wind of Altamont Pass , then it soon and Oakland bridge. In this sense, there is a toll to regulate traffic except for buses and carpooling. Wow, when you see the queues!

San Francisco - City Hall on Civic Center Plaza

Finally, it was the arrival in San Francisco. The Embassy is located near the Civic Center Plaza (and on the photo above-cons).

It is close to 19 hours when we get off the bus. The time to reach our rooms, in a tiny elevator, it took us a while ...

After a while, we realized it was better organized ... It was enough to put up with suitcases in the lift and, ascending the stairs, they could get up ... After all, there were only six floors and a few brave volunteers ...

Then, time to settle, and cool off a bit to change, we were ahead and were able to descend to the town hall take some shots. But it was very cold, really! A cold wind ...

The rendezvous was fixed at 20:30 and we all gathered in the hotel lobby, warm, until we get to the restaurant.

And today, when I write these lines, this is just a year that we take our last day in the American West! It's like it was yesterday!
